MHPP Filming

The Mental Health and Productivity Pilot (MHPP) filmed our approach to supporting workforce mental health.

Our participation in the Thrive at Work project made us appreciate the importance of mental as well as physical wellbeing.  In achieving our Thrive bronze award we used a range of resources from the MHPP and Mind to give us the framework, vocabulary and tools to start discussing mental health.

One of our CNC engineers, who had experienced anxiety, became a mental health champion and we were able to be more responsive to staff anxieties during the Covid pandemic and lockdowns.

We will continue mental health support as we need our staff to be creative problem solvers and mental anxieties will reduce their productivity.

About MHPP – it brings together a range of expert partners to improve mental health and productivity in the Midlands Engine region. MHPP is a three-year programme funded by Midlands Engine, until June 2022.  Led by Coventry University in partnership with University of Warwick, West Midlands Combined Authority, mental health charity Mind, Public Health England and five other Midlands universities – Birmingham, Derby, Lincoln, Loughborough and Nottingham.
