We hosted Emily Bourne, a Director at BEIS at A&M for a day in industry, to learn how business works.
On Friday 11th January 2019, Emily Bourne, Director, Energy Development and Resilience at the Department of Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) spent at
day with A&M to understand more about how industry works.
Emily spent the day with staff from a range of operations – aerospace component production, spark and wire erosion, quality systems, CNC machining and inspection.
Emily spoke to some of our current and former apprentices on the apprenticeships and skills development and discussed the challenges of running an engineering SME and how the Industrial Strategy can support businesses to grow with A&M Managing Director Mark Wingfield. (Pictured below)
